Ford E-Series 4.6L V8, have been using it as a camper van, using it 6 -12 times year for many years, highway mileage is now 170K and runs great, front and back AC/Heat works great.
I have upgraded to a toy hauler and this engine is just not strong enough to feel comfortable towing with it, it does have a 7 pin electric brake and a tow hitch, but I would not recommend towing much. I replaced the rear and front springs, and added rear air shocks that you can add air while your driving on our crappy roads, tires are brand new, has original aluminum wheels with some corrosion on them, it looks great, but with all the miles it’s got some missing paint on the flares, body is in good shape, this was a Texas truck, but never drove it in the wintertime, frame has some rust, but is still solid going down the road, I did have macio repaint the top of the van many years ago, it does have a few spots that the paint came off, and I’ve touched up a little, but no major rot.
The engine has new rockers & lash adjusters, they were ticking a little bit at 150K, new serpentine belt, it has new ignition coil’s, & double iridium Denso spark plugs, and wires, all aluminum heavy duty radiator with water wetter added to antifreeze to keep temps down, hoses and thermostat, modified the exhaust to come out the side, has new brake master cylinder, I added a electric seat base to make for a better view for short people, the fold down bed works, but I do add an inflatable mattress to make it more comfy, the side door only opens from the inside, windshield is cracked but not in line of sight, it has a newer radio with remote control, not Bluetooth. Only usb or rca input, sounds great., I’ve only driven it twice this last year and I need the space in the garage for the pickup I bought to tow the trailer.
