Incredible restored 1977 Volkswagen Camper

This bus was completely rebuilt in 2012 when it received a very nice full glass-out single stage repaint in original VW (chrome yellow/pastel white). All new German rubber—full door kits, all windows, hatches, complete camper kit, etc. then brought to Utah and placed in a collection. The van was completely gone thru again in 2016 again making it roadworthy, we have all those records from that round. We recently picked up this van from the collection it sat in for the last 10 years. We had cleaned the fuel tank, replaced the fuel system and rebuilt the carb. This van runs better than the day it was new. This VW came from the Cherokee Nation where it spent most of its life.

The van was stored inside in a climate control shop since the restoration. The paint has held up very well with a small scrape in the paint along the driver’s side lower quarter that can be easily fixed.

Interior was also completely restored. All seats, cushions, and curtains expertly reupholstered to match original including a set of Vanagon captains chairs. Cabinetry was professionally repaired and re-laminated.

Sink, stove and refrigerator all seam to work, as does 12v deep-cycle battery and charging system. Sink now drains on the ground as from factory.

Mechanically, this bus needs absolutely nothing. Pretty much every suspension and steering component has been replaced, brakes are new and solid, new hoses, master cylinder and booster have been installed. The carbureted engine runs smooth, has great power (relative, anyway!) and stays cool.

4 speed manual shifts smooth (again, relative), clutch is strong. Current mileage shows 59,856.
